Interview process

Writer's picture: Abigail HallAbigail Hall

Coming towards the end of the interview process, I have deemed it successful. I carried out the interviews over Zoom or Google Meets, whichever was preferred for the participant, and had some really insightful conversations with them. I have learnt so much myself about the profession and the amazing work they do, and I am excited for more people to know about it. I have also interviewed more than double the amount of people that I wanted to speak to, which is amazing to have so much knowledge and information to work with. It will take a while to go through all the data, and I need to be very aware of those who wanted their stories to be made anonymous.

I have had one therapist so far say I could attend a session in person, and others saying to contact in the new year about either attending or retrieving footage. This is positive as well as I did not think I would be able to due to confidentiality. Now I will have to wait and see what I can do to obey the rules of the pandemic. I hope that I will be able to retrieve enough footage to create the video. One therapist has a contact as well that may be able to do the sign language!

To do:

  • Create video plan

  • Begin to transcribe the interviews

  • Contact participants in the new year about footage
